Online Reputation Management for Social Media

Many consumers first find out about a brand through their interactions on social media sites. As a business you are given the opportunity to target the most relatable and positive aspects about your brand through your posts. You must also, however, manage any negative perceptions that consumers may have about your brand very quickly. Social media is by far the most interactive platform for consumers and where they are running across the names of different brands. This means that the posts and the content about your brand must be enhanced and monitored along with the conversations that people are having in the comments sections. This allows your business to climb out of a hole if there are negative comments being made. One way to do this is to be totally transparent and proactive. Be willing to discuss and acknowledge any problems surfacing on social media and let consumers know how you are planning to improve the performance or quality of a product. Actively engage with consumers and be helpful in terms of any suggestions, problems or complaints that have surfaced. Every answer that you provide will be viewed by not only the person that has left a comment but by many others. This is your one chance to leave a positive impression on all viewers. Remain positive and understanding in your communications with others and you’ll see that this will go a long way. When you are engaging with consumers and being transparent with them, you will be building a reputation that is impeccable. At the same time, you must also post the positive aspects of your company including the product line, services, the workplace and your commitment to customer service. Here’s How Social Media Is Influencing Food Habits

If you’ve been on social media lately, you’ve no doubt seen the mass amount of food pictures posted. People are going out to restaurants and taking pictures of their culinary delights to share with their friends and followers. At home, they are making food and showing the ultimate plated results or even step-by-step pictures of the preparation. Others are sharing recipes in video form from well-respected foodie websites. Once you get onto Instagram and see the displays of food, it may trigger a few cravings. But how is social media affecting what we eat and how we eat it? Eating is inherently a very social activity, and has been throughout history. Food and the social media platforms have definitely formed a unique relationship and food trend. Since Instagram launched in 2010, more than 208 million posts on Instagram use the #food hashtag. Restaurants and other companies along the food chain have started to take notice of the power of social sharing, and how it can influence the development of new flavours and dishes based on trends, as well as create word-of-mouth promotion for themselves. Some of the latest trends include some wilder ideas, such as avocado toast and even a Unicorn Frappuccino. Starbucks introduced this frappuccino for a limited time and it was buzzing across many social sites. The drink starts off with a sweet, fruity flavour and then transforms into a sour drink. With fairy powders, whipped cream and pink and purple highlights, the drink is being shared at an unprecedented rate through photos, recipes, and video reviews. As for avocado toast, the price of avocados is now higher than it has been in 19 years, and this is being somewhat credited to the popular trend. Anyone in the food business at any point along the chain needs to monitor social media food trends to stay in the loop – #foodies are definitely spreading the news and it’s happening faster than wildfire. Snapchat’s New Features Bring Augmented Reality To Advertisers

Get ready – Snapchat is launching a new feature that allows users to incorporate corporate logos into their Snaps! These promotional lenses can be used for videos and images, even Snaps without faces. MGM Studios and Warner Bros. are some of the first businesses to be using these new lenses. On May 19, the two blockbuster film studios are releasing a new movie titled “Everything, Everything”, and Snapchat users can film their own videos using a promotional lens! The lens features a new frame with flowers and details of the movie – but the most exciting feature is the addition of creatures that interact with objects in the frame! This new promotional opportunity gives companies the chance to test out augmented reality and its effectiveness as a marketing tool for the future. Fans of this movie will be able to use other lenses as well that feature interactive clouds, characters that can be added to Snaps, games, and more.  Snapchat is also updating it’s Geofilters, creating Smart Geofilters that incorporate location or other data into the image – MGM and WB used this to reach out to students by featuring the name of their high school in the Snap. Snapchat has announced they will also be working together with major advertising firms to develop marketing campaigns for a variety of household brands. This will give advertisers something new to test in the upcoming months. Snap will also be offering Lens ads that target smaller demographic or geographic audiences. It’s not entirely clear at this point whether these types of lenses will attract new sales and traffic, or if Snap users will only find it something amusing to play with. It’s also unsure at this point of the game whether other rival social media sites such as Instagram will copy this new feature with their own augmented reality ads. As more and more promotional tools become available to companies and business owners, it’s important to keep your finger on the pulse of any social media updates. Qode Social offers expert social media management that will improve your online presence and help you reach your goals. Qode Social Has Been Featured in Forbes!

Qode Social Has Been Featured in Forbes! Qode Social is proud to announce that an article written by Kelly Samuel, social media director of Qode Social, has been featured in Forbes. The article stresses the importance of using social media platforms the properly when conducting business. A company or website owner should have a distinct purpose in mind when using any social media platform to ensure that there will be benefits from its use. In order to build your business and to avoid hurting it, Ms. Samuel explores content creation on these platforms and specifically how to make it generates leads. She offers useful suggestions such as posting less to prevent your viewers’ feeds from becoming clogged on sites such as Instagram and Facebook. She also warns against advertising too frequently and instead suggests posting friendly, intriguing articles that would be of interest to your viewers. Another way to engage users on the social media sites is to reference a trending personality or event in pop culture, especially when advertising. This makes the marketing much more acceptable to the viewing audience. Ms. Samuel also adds that it’s crucial to look at the roots of these social media sites and how they have evolved. They were initially created for recreational use so that friends and family could connect on a casual basis. Too much advertising conflicts with the initial purpose of the sites so it must be done strategically. Even though the social sites have become somewhat of a marketplace, in order to convert content it should be appealing to human nature and something that a person would be inclined to share. Content on social media sites must be engaging and relevant. If you aren’t offering this type of content and are merely using these platforms for advertising purposes, you may fall short when it comes to your social media marketing. To find out more about social media content and how it can explode your business, please contact Qode Social at 416-226-0563 or visit our website. Facebook Launches Messenger Day

Facebook Launches Messenger Day

On March 9, 2017 Facebook launched Messenger Day to help you find and connect with your friends. You can find it at the top of the chat app on Android and iOS or on your desktop in messaging threads. You now have the ability to share decorated videos and photos with friends in a new and engaging way. This new feature resembles Snapchat Stories and can be used for making plans. It’s expected that Messenger Day will become popular since many people are already using Messenger anyway, which may give Snapchat a run for its money. While Snapchat Stories gives users the chance to show what they’ve been doing, Messenger Day features an “Active Now” filter and a “Who’s up for?” filter that will get people planning and into action. In simple terms, Facebook may have put something useful together to rival “more fun than useful” Snapchat Stories. Try it out for yourself. Let others know that you are going out for supper and take a photo. See if any of your friends decide to engage in a conversation and make plans with you. Instead of just watching what you’ve already done that was fun, your friends can come and join you while you’re doing something. If you have specific friends that shouldn’t see these posts, they can be blocked with the “Everyone Except” function. As well, you can put together a list of friends that will have the ability to watch and keep track of your “Days” or you can directly send posts to specific friends on an individual basis. You can also see who has looked at your Day when you scroll down to the bottom of the posts. Categorized filters are fun and exciting with captions such as “Let’s grab drinks” and “Who’s up for grabbing coffee?”. You can even create your own filter if you can’t find the right one in the list. There are no ads currently being shown on Messenger Day but that doesn’t mean that they might not be there in the future. As well, only individuals can use this new feature for now. Businesses will most likely be able to use it once more experiments have been done showing more ways that businesses can open threads. There is probably an opportunity ahead for businesses, we just don’t have an idea yet what it will be. It’s anyone’s guess as to how this will directly affect Snapchat now or in the future. There are certainly many loyal Snapchat users but will this new Facebook function curtail any Snapchat growth? Will Messenger Day convince users that there is no special reason to register on another social networking site? These are definitely questions that will only be answered as time goes by. To find out more about Facebook’s new Messenger Day and other social media features and functions please visit qodesocial.com or call us...
