We Visited Happy Place in Toronto and Here’s our Honest Review

Happy Place has touched down in Toronto, and this vibrant pop-up has been all over social media. The reviews have been a bit rough, so we visited it firsthand to see whether this insta-worthy spot is worth the hype. Right off the bat, the two biggest pieces of criticisms were the lines, and the ticket prices. Monday/Wednesday/Thursday: $32.50 incl HST Friday/Saturday/Sunday: $39.50 incl HST Tickets seem a bit pricey when comparing them to other activities like cineplex or the ROM, but considering the pop-up is only open for a limited window, and similar pop-ups such as Museum of Ice Cream costs approx $38, we think it’s worth the money. Kids under 4 are free, which is an added bonus.     So as you enter rooms, you can’t actually backtrack – so make sure you’re ready to leave before you move on. We went on a Wednesday at 3:00PM, and lines were non-existent. Around 3:30 it got a little bit busy, but there’s definitely enough content in each room to be entertained while you wait. Happy Place is set up for Instagram – there are multiple angles that you can experience (and photograph) each room in.     Our highlight was definitely the confetti dome – let us know what you think! New Festival this Winter in Toronto

Toronto Light Festival    Now that the holidays have died down the dullness of winter is hitting Toronto, but not to worry something new and bright is about to illuminate the streets of the 6ix. Toronto’s Light Festival is here and ready to wow! What: A showcase of incredible art pieces all created by lights. This unique art exhibit showcases pieces from a variety of different artists. By using lights as their medium they are ready to brighten up the distillery district with this innovative installation. Where: The Historic Distillery District Toronto When: The festival runs from January 27th – March 12th . Starting each night at dusk the lights run until 10pm Sundays – Wednesdays and 11pm Thursdays to Saturdays Cost: Free Photo Courtesy of The Distillery District With over 13 acres and 44 buildings lit up with 1000’s of lights, this event is one worth leaving the comfort of your homes to attend. Grab a coffee at Balzac’s and walk the streets of the distillery district.
