How to Make Your Instagram Presence Look More like a Business

There are tools available on Instagram that can help make your Instagram presence look more business-oriented and professional, and they are just a few easy clicks away. If you are using Instagram to reach out to customers, here are some of the most important features you should be using to accomplish this goal: Action Buttons Add the Instagram call-to-action buttons to your business account on your profile page. This way, it is easier for customers to purchase tickets, make an appointment with you and more. Shoppable Stories Instagram is currently testing out a new feature that allows consumers to shop from Instagram Stories. Only select partners have access to this feature at the moment but it should be rolling out soon to all users. You’ll be able to tag products in your stories so that followers can click on them directly make an instant purchase. Use the @Mention Sticker This sticker allows you to mention a specific customer. You can use this feature in your Stories to let others know about individuals that have won a prize in a giveaway, someone that has submitted a great testimonial or to provide more information about a guest on one of your recent podcasts. In many cases the person mentioned will decide to share your content with the followers on their own Stories. Landing Page for Links Instead of loading up your profile with a ton of links, you can simply place a direct link to a landing page that provides a number of different links. This will help keep your page looking neat, tidy and professional and you can add more links as necessary when new products are added. Facebook Launches Messenger Day

Facebook Launches Messenger Day

On March 9, 2017 Facebook launched Messenger Day to help you find and connect with your friends. You can find it at the top of the chat app on Android and iOS or on your desktop in messaging threads. You now have the ability to share decorated videos and photos with friends in a new and engaging way. This new feature resembles Snapchat Stories and can be used for making plans. It’s expected that Messenger Day will become popular since many people are already using Messenger anyway, which may give Snapchat a run for its money. While Snapchat Stories gives users the chance to show what they’ve been doing, Messenger Day features an “Active Now” filter and a “Who’s up for?” filter that will get people planning and into action. In simple terms, Facebook may have put something useful together to rival “more fun than useful” Snapchat Stories. Try it out for yourself. Let others know that you are going out for supper and take a photo. See if any of your friends decide to engage in a conversation and make plans with you. Instead of just watching what you’ve already done that was fun, your friends can come and join you while you’re doing something. If you have specific friends that shouldn’t see these posts, they can be blocked with the “Everyone Except” function. As well, you can put together a list of friends that will have the ability to watch and keep track of your “Days” or you can directly send posts to specific friends on an individual basis. You can also see who has looked at your Day when you scroll down to the bottom of the posts. Categorized filters are fun and exciting with captions such as “Let’s grab drinks” and “Who’s up for grabbing coffee?”. You can even create your own filter if you can’t find the right one in the list. There are no ads currently being shown on Messenger Day but that doesn’t mean that they might not be there in the future. As well, only individuals can use this new feature for now. Businesses will most likely be able to use it once more experiments have been done showing more ways that businesses can open threads. There is probably an opportunity ahead for businesses, we just don’t have an idea yet what it will be. It’s anyone’s guess as to how this will directly affect Snapchat now or in the future. There are certainly many loyal Snapchat users but will this new Facebook function curtail any Snapchat growth? Will Messenger Day convince users that there is no special reason to register on another social networking site? These are definitely questions that will only be answered as time goes by. Instagram Unveils a New Major Marketing Tool for Businesses

Instagram Unveils a New Major Marketing Tool for Businesses

Instagram Unveils a New Major Marketing Tool for Businesses On Wednesday, Instagram unveiled its new bookmarking feature that allows users the opportunity to save the posts that they’d like to revisit at a later time. It’s called “Saved Posts” and it has turned Instagram from a browsing tool to a curation tool as well. It closely resembles the feature found on Pinterest and it breathes more life into posts. Posts that had a short shelf-life before this new change came about can now be revisited on a long-term basis by people that bookmark it for later viewing. Businesses that are using Instagram for branding purposes are going to love this new tool. Exciting hacks can be created such as the one put together by Audi just hours after the feature was introduced. The auto company put up 9 pieces of an Audi R8 image on its page in random order. Anyone that put the pieces together correctly could see the completed image on their own profile in the bookmarks tab. So far more than 3,200 Instagram users have solved the puzzle. This new update is a welcome addition to the other features that Instagram has initiated in the past months. Last month, links were introduced in stories to convert sales and promote content by businesses and brands. As well, a few selected partners have been testing out shoppable photo tags, which will hopefully be available to the general public soon. Once these e-commerce tests are finalized, users will be able to use the “Saved Posts” button along with the e-commerce features to save the products that they intend to purchase later. Instagram is taking steps to provide more e-commerce functionality to the site and brands should take into account what these features can offer down the road. For example, brands that have a long lead product will be able to use all of these new tools to their advantage. The bridal and home-improvement industries, for example, can target consumers both on a short-term and on a long-term basis. Users can create a virtual board while browsing and select products of interest that can be accessed later. It’s highly anticipated that brands will also be able to collect data to improve their ad targeting. It’s also likely that there will be a number of call-to-actions to save brand posts since saving posts will affect the algorithm and make it more likely for a brand’s content to show up in a feed. Instagram Launches New Feature to Remove Commenting Ability on Posts

Instagram Launches New Feature to Remove Commenting Ability on Posts Instagram has recently announced that there are new major changes on the horizon that will give users better control over their app experiences. Users will be able to decide whether they want to turn off the comments left on their posts or not. A user will not have to be concerned about any comments left and will have the option to turn them off. This change was noted on the Instagram blog on December 12, 2016 and it follows the introduction of September’s keyword filter. This filter could only be used by celebrities originally but was later introduced to all Instagram users, allowing them to create custom lists or filter out offensive language. As well, the no-comments feature was only available to power users at the beginning. In the weeks to come, all users will have access to it. The toggle to turn off comments can be found under the advanced settings. If you do decide to turn off comments, you’ll have the option of changing your mind and turning them back on later. There are other upcoming updates that should be noted including the option of removing followers discreetly from your account or liking particular comments. You’ll also be able to provide an anonymous report to Instagram if you see any user threatening to injure themselves. The company will connect the user to an organization that can provide help and teams will be reviewing the reports 24/7. Although they may seem like simple changes, they reflect just how dedicated Instagram is to improving the safety and the enjoyment of the site to its end users. A lot of the Instagram conversations start with comments so this is a big change for the site. It allows users to enjoy the social media platform without having to worry about negative comments. It can be said that Instagram is becoming more like Snapchat every day with these new updates. Of course, Instagram has its own set of loyal visitors and it seems as though these changes may make the platform even more inviting for new users. There’s no doubt that Instagram has become a leader in the online social media world and should be considered as a vital tool for any marketer that wants to reach out to its target market en masse. To find out more about Instagram and how it can help any business reach its intended target market please call Qode Social at 416-226-0563 or visit our website at...
