Online Reputation Management for Social Media

Many consumers first find out about a brand through their interactions on social media sites. As a business you are given the opportunity to target the most relatable and positive aspects about your brand through your posts. You must also, however, manage any negative perceptions that consumers may have about your brand very quickly. Social media is by far the most interactive platform for consumers and where they are running across the names of different brands. This means that the posts and the content about your brand must be enhanced and monitored along with the conversations that people are having in the comments sections. This allows your business to climb out of a hole if there are negative comments being made. One way to do this is to be totally transparent and proactive. Be willing to discuss and acknowledge any problems surfacing on social media and let consumers know how you are planning to improve the performance or quality of a product. Actively engage with consumers and be helpful in terms of any suggestions, problems or complaints that have surfaced. Every answer that you provide will be viewed by not only the person that has left a comment but by many others. This is your one chance to leave a positive impression on all viewers. Remain positive and understanding in your communications with others and you’ll see that this will go a long way. When you are engaging with consumers and being transparent with them, you will be building a reputation that is impeccable. At the same time, you must also post the positive aspects of your company including the product line, services, the workplace and your commitment to customer service. Amazing Tips to Help You Grow Your Business on Instagram

Instagram is a front-runner in terms of social media channels and is a great resource to use when you’re growing your business. Although most of the users of this platform are composed of millennials, older generations are starting to embrace the app more each day. While Facebook usually takes the spotlight when it comes to promoting a business on a social media network, Instagram is too big and powerful to be ignored. Motivate Your Followers and Fans No matter how many followers you have on Instagram, it’s important to give them the attention they deserve and get them motivated enough to spread the word about your business. Get everyone involved by engaging and asking for some suggestions about new products or services. This will not only strengthen the relationship that you have with your fans but will also give you valuable insights into potential new ideas to grow your company. Link with Influencers There are a lot of influencers on Instagram that can help you to grow your business by leaps and bounds. It’s always a good idea to look for an influencer within your field that can help to spread the word about your brand. This way, your content will be showing up on two different accounts, which will make your exposure much more significant, since these web celebrities usually have a considerable following. Don’t underestimate the power of influencers – especially on this social media platform. Share with Your Community Give back to the people that are constantly demonstrating brand loyalty. Offering giveaways and contests will likely motivate them to check your account more often, but make sure these giveaways are fun and exciting for your followers, emphasizing the idea of giving and not receiving. This is not the time to try to boost your sales but to raise brand awareness and to gain more respect from consumers. Instagram Brings Back the GIFs! (With More Moderation)

If you’re like us, you quickly noticed back in early March when Instagram suddenly removed GIFs from Stories. The culprit was a racist GIF that managed to slip past the oversight of Giphy, the company responsible for the GIF library available on Instagram.   Snapchat was also quick to follow Instagram’s lead and removed the feature however, according to reports from TechCrunch, the obsession-worthy GIF option will soon be restored. That’s right, have no fear – you’ll be back to adding clips of your favourite celebrities to your Stories in no time.   To ensure a similar incident doesn’t occur in the future, Giphy stated it has re-evaluated the content moderation filters that control the stickers available in it’s GIF library. The company has also added extra security measures including, “another level of Giphy moderation before each sticker is approved into the library,” adding this would be a permanent addition to their moderation process. Instagram is reportedly satisfied with the actions taken and additional precautions. The company recently stated publicly, “We’ve been in close contact with Giphy throughout this process and we’re confident that they have put measures in place to ensure that Instagram users have a good experience.”   As long as GIFs are here to stay, we’ll be happy. We’re also looking forward to capitalizing on the changes Instagram recently released to it’s feed, including a New Posts button.  For more on the latest social media trends and news, head over to our website at...

BREAKING – You can now schedule posts on Instagram!

BREAKING – You can now schedule posts on Instagram!

It finally happened – you can now schedule posts on Instagram.   No more awkwardly excusing yourself at work to post that photo to Insta at the most engaging time.   No more frantically trying to get good enough wi-fi to post in between subway stops, because 6pm is your account’s peak engagement time.   No more paying companies extravagant sums of money to post on your behalf. It’s here.   Previously, several social media management platforms such as Hootsuite had launched a work around where you needed to download an app, and a notification would prompt you to post at the time scheduled. But not only was  super convenient, it also was super glitchy.   Facebook, Instagram’s parent company, finally announced today that they have launched full scheduling integration, meaning you can schedule in Hootsuite and your photo and caption will automatically post at the desired time (more geeky details here). At least, that’s the idea.   We tried scheduling an image in Hootsuite for Instagram, but it didn’t work as well as expected.   Here’s a quick step-by-step guide:   Connect your Business Instagram Account to Hootsuite (on desktop) Connect your Facebook page that is attached to your Business Instagram Account Download the Hootsuite app (on mobile) Enable notifications in the app Schedule your post within Hootsuite   After we tried it out, the post disappeared from the “scheduled” stream in Hootsuite at the right time, but it didn’t actually post to Instagram.   Have you tried out Hootsuite’s new feature? Did you have better luck than us? Let us know below in the...

6 Essential Tips For Your Social Media Headlines

6 Essential Tips For Your Social Media Headlines If you want to deliver a message on social media to be heard by the masses, you’ll need to create stunning headlines that stand out from the masses of competing content. In order to make your voice heard, you’ll need to be able to cut through the noise on the social sites with sharp headlines that connect with your audience. Here are some tips to help you create the headlines that will resonate with your target market. Ask questions – Pique the curiosity of your audience and take advantage of more engagement by asking a question in your headline. Create urgency – When you have up-to-date news to share, use words that convey the urgency of the story, such as “breaking news”, “this just in”, etc. Highlight the value – If you can create a headline that outlines the value of your message you’ll attract more visitors. You’ll be providing a reason for people to read through the entire post or to click on a link. Use numbers – Headlines that have numbers generally create more excitement than other headlines. When you can put together a list, people will be drawn to it since it’s fast and easy to read. Make sure that your number appears in a numeral form versus a word form. Add adjectives – The power of just one word can change the effectiveness of your headline. For example, “Flooding in Toronto” may be overlooked, while “Massive Flooding in Downtown Toronto” is more likely to turn heads. Colons and hyphens – Studies have shown that the click-through rate on a headline containing hyphens or colons goes up by approximately 9%. Your primary keyword should show up before the hyphen or colon followed by the rest of your message. Creating catchy headlines and content is the basis for several industries – investing in copywriting is key for any company to attract individual customers, and the world of search engine optimization is built upon using the right words to show relevance in the chosen market. Use the tips above to improve your headlines, but if you are looking to maximize your potential, Qode Social is here to help. We provide the copywriting and visual content to increase your engagement and business growth. Contact us today to find out how we can help attract visitors to your social media channels and your...
