Instagram Launches New Feature to Remove Commenting Ability on Posts

Instagram Launches New Feature to Remove Commenting Ability on Posts Instagram has recently announced that there are new major changes on the horizon that will give users better control over their app experiences. Users will be able to decide whether they want to turn off the comments left on their posts or not. A user will not have to be concerned about any comments left and will have the option to turn them off. This change was noted on the Instagram blog on December 12, 2016 and it follows the introduction of September’s keyword filter. This filter could only be used by celebrities originally but was later introduced to all Instagram users, allowing them to create custom lists or filter out offensive language. As well, the no-comments feature was only available to power users at the beginning. In the weeks to come, all users will have access to it. The toggle to turn off comments can be found under the advanced settings. If you do decide to turn off comments, you’ll have the option of changing your mind and turning them back on later. There are other upcoming updates that should be noted including the option of removing followers discreetly from your account or liking particular comments. You’ll also be able to provide an anonymous report to Instagram if you see any user threatening to injure themselves. The company will connect the user to an organization that can provide help and teams will be reviewing the reports 24/7. Although they may seem like simple changes, they reflect just how dedicated Instagram is to improving the safety and the enjoyment of the site to its end users. A lot of the Instagram conversations start with comments so this is a big change for the site. It allows users to enjoy the social media platform without having to worry about negative comments. It can be said that Instagram is becoming more like Snapchat every day with these new updates. Of course, Instagram has its own set of loyal visitors and it seems as though these changes may make the platform even more inviting for new users. There’s no doubt that Instagram has become a leader in the online social media world and should be considered as a vital tool for any marketer that wants to reach out to its target market en masse. When you first start putting your ads up you’ll see that Facebook suggests starting with a daily budget of $20, but you don’t have to agree to this limit. A lifetime budget is the amount selected as the maximum you’re willing to spend for the lifetime of the ad. For example, if you choose $50, the ad will only run until the $50 limit has been reached. Then you’ll be able to decide whether you want to continue the ad or replace it with another. Tracking and Tweaking Your Ad There is a lot of analysis and data available for every ad campaign that you run. You’ll be able to access it from your dashboard menu and you’ll find that the dashboard is extremely user-friendly. The ad structure starts with a campaign and then can be broken down into ad sets that feature up to 10 various ads that can appear in each set. You’ll be able to access statistics from these campaigns, sets and ads so that you can track and tweak them as necessary. You’ll be able to export the data that you see in your dashboard with one click of the “Export” button that can be found on the right-hand side right above the table of data. Pokemon Go & How it Can Help Your Business

Although it hasn’t even been officially released in Canada, we can’t seem to escape Pokemon Go. From social media posts to chatter in the Qode Social office, Pokemon Go has engulfed the lives of millions of people around the world; already reaching more active users (in a week) than Twitter, while also becoming the most downloaded mobile game ever. Pokemon Go has all the signs of a successful mobile app, meaning it will only grow in popularity and numbers. As more and more users are travelling to catch Pokemon, it’s important to remember that this can also be a great business opportunity.  What is Pokemon Go? Pokemon Go is a game, heavily based on player location. It requires players to walk around/travel to locations to capture Pokemon and level up. This means that there could be a lot of increased traffic to your store as people gather to collect Pokemon, so why not make the most of it! Below are some helpful tips on how to maximize your presence on Pokemon Go. Make your shop Pokemon Go friendly If your business relies heavily on foot traffic making your shop Pokemon Go friendly is a great way to potentially bring in new customers. Offering a Pokemon themed drink or food item for sale can entice players to stop into your location while on their Pokemon hunt. Create a “Pokestop” Pokestops are locations in the game that require players to visit to earn rewards. These are often stores, murals or local landmarks. You can request a Pokestop to your area to attract users to your store! If you’d rather go all-out, you can also make a Pokemon Go account and set up a lure at a nearby Pokestop. This shows up on other players’ maps and brings them to your location. Pokemon Go is just one of many overnight successes that really change how we interact with media. It’s essential to adapt to these new technologies and find a way to incorporate them into your business. To stay up to date on all the latest viral trends and social media news, partner with us!
