Dad Brings to Life His 6 Year-Old Son’s Adorable (and Creepy) Artwork

The best way to get a glimpse of what’s happening in a young child’s mind is by observing their artwork. As we all know, drawings that we made as children were eccentric, dreamlike, and quite unrealistic. Their artistic creations are a product of big and wild imaginations, such is the case with 6-year-old artist Dom. Dom has started an Instagram account called Things I have Drawn with his father to display his favourite drawings and doodles. But it doesn’t end there. Dom’s father recreates all of these doodles by bringing them to reality via digital technology. Dom’s doodles range from sea creatures, lizards, and butterflies to airplanes, rocket ships, and museum sculptures. The results are both amazing and slightly creepy. Check out Dom’s Instagram here. Human Sized Board Games are Now a Thing in Toronto and We Are Here For It

Human Sized Board Games are Now a Thing in Toronto and We Are Here For It

Let’s face it- board games are still one of the most underrated social activity. Board games nights are a thing of the past, and most of us board game aficionados get shafted when we even try to suggest it as a group activity (except when pairing with #WineWednesday). Aside from your usual visit to Snakes & Lattes, there aren’t too many opportunities to enjoy a night of board games with your friends, that is, until now.   Exclusive Sports Rental has ridiculously giant versions of some of your favourite board games for rent. You can enjoy large sized versions of Jenga, Snakes & Ladders, Chess, and Scrabble, along with some other classics. These giant indoor/outdoor games can be rented on a day-by-day basis, or you can rent them for the whole weekend if you feel like board game binging. If this doesn’t sell you on the board game life, we don’t know what will. View the full line-up of life-sized board games at Exclusive Sports Rental. We’re kind of board games experts here at Qode Social; an office round of Monopoly can get pretty intense (we’re also pretty into Monopoly Deal but it doesn’t have a board so we aren’t sure if it’s classified as a board game?).  We’re also experts on social media! We’re the best social media marketing company in Toronto. Give us a call today at 647-556-3267 or fill out our online form to get started on building your social channels (you can talk to us about board games...

Instagram’s Launches New Feature to Promote Wellness & Mental Health

Instagram is used to share updates on our lives, stunning photography, meals we’ve cooked, and moments we’ve shared. We share images of colourful birthday parties where an unlucky friend passes out too early on, and we share intimate moments of quiet magenta-tinted lakes at a Muskoka cottage. We share images of old friends when we’re feeling nostalgic, or new friends when we’re making history. Happy National Coffee Day! ☕ #nationalcoffeeday #coffee #work A photo posted by Qode Social (@qodesocial) on Sep 29, 2016 at 2:00pm PDT We also share images when we’re sad, or down. For some people, social media is one of the only channels that feels comfortable to interact with other people when we need moral support. Instagram is rolling out a new feature that can assist you in helping a friend who may be struggling. If you notice someone posting an image that seems distraught or self-harming, you can now flag that photo. Instagram will then message that person with the following: “Someone saw one of your posts and thinks you might be going through a difficult time. If you need support, we’d like to help.” They have a handful of options to choose from, including talking to a friend, phoning in a local helpline, or receive tips and support. It’s an anonymous and non-intrusive way to reach out to someone you may not know very well, while not alarming them. Instagram’s chief operating officer, Marne Levine, told Seventeen. “These tools are designed to let you know that you are surrounded by a community that cares about you, at a moment when you might most need that reminder.” While #bodypositivity and self confidence issues still run rampant on social media, Instagram is making decisions that will make it easier to identify those who need help. Social media gets a little more real today. Share this with a friend, or tell us what you think of the new feature in the comments.  ...
